Philip Victor holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. He is also a certified Sensecurity Institute Security Practitioner (SISP). He has been involved in the IT field for the past 14 years and his experiences include working in a leading telecommunications company and educational field where he had lectured in many areas of Information Technology. His work involvement includes ICT Security, Network Design and development of IT related courses and training programs.
He currently heads the Training & Outreach Unit at the National ICT Security And Emergency Response Centre (NISER) and is actively involved in promoting ICT Security Awareness for organizations and the general public. He has presented and conducted various ICT Security Awareness programs for many organizations and also for the general public. Some of his presentations include topics on Security Policy, Incident Response & Handling, Spam, Business Continuity Planning and Security Best Practices. He was also part of the Anti Spam Framework of Best Practices and Technical Guidelines 2004 committee. He has presented papers locally and internationally and also has published papers in IT Journals.
At NISER, he is also involved in identifying and developing specialized ICT Security courses in line with NISER’s objective to fill in the gaps that exist in the field of ICT Security in Malaysia. He also sits in the panel for the Malaysian Judicial and Legal Training Institute to design Information Security related course for Lawyers and Judges. He is also involved in evaluating ICT Security programs conducted by various training institutions.
