Sharon Tan
Analyst |

Today, having the right information at your fingertip is essential and can affect the outcome of winning or losing to your competitors. The evolvement in business requirements has shifted from costing centric to better decision-making within the enterprise community. Business Intelligence is focused on improving the integration and delivery of information. Business Performance Management , on the other hand, provides an eagle-eye view of businesses. Today the landscape have changed to such a degree that vendors ranging from the pure plays, enterprise application vendors, database vendors and more, claim to have some form of BI or BPM – or both. The pressure is on the pure breed vendors as the source of business processes and intelligence resides in the hands of the large application vendors.
Ms Sharon Tan will share the major trends and developments that are shaping the dynamic landscape of the BI and BPM market in Malaysia and the region. |

Security: The
Basis of an Alliance Ecosystem |

Senior Analyst |

Technology made information instantly
accessible, but it also increased its
vulnerability. In addition to the risks
from viruses, malicious worms and trojans,
companies also have to deal with an
increase of criminal activities and
terrorism on the web; privacy violations,
identity thefts, industrial theft and
espionage. In addition to these risks,
companies also have to deal with the
regulatory compliance requirements.
Software vendors are increasingly working
more closely with each other to build
formal, integrated "alliances."
Alliances help individual companies
focus on their strengths and build solutions
that are more comprehensive, faster
to implement, and more cost-effective
for their customers. The bottom line:
Alliances are popular because they are
beneficial to customers.
This presentation will explore what
you need to know, what you need to do,
what will happen, and solutions for
dealing with these security issues on
both supply and demand side, and the
impact of alliance among the software
industry.
