| High Productivity Computing:HPC is Going Mainstream |
| |
High-performance computing (HPC) – formerly known as supercomputing – has moved well beyond its origins in large government and university research sites. Today, HPC (also known as High Productivity Computing) is indispensable for large commercial firms and is quickly moving into small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across a broad range of vertical markets. The rise of standards-based HPC clusters has made this transformational technology accessible for even small firms and small workgroups. And leading vendors now offer "ease-of-everything" clusters specially designed for first-time and less-experienced HPC users. The Asia-Pacific market is already home to some of the world's most powerful HPC facilities and promises to be the fastest growth area on the planet for HPC use.
|
| |
In a first-time collaborative effort in Asia/Pacific, IDC and program partners Cisco, Hewlett-Packard, Intel and Microsoft have organized a multi-city road show to share the latest HPC market trends, data and examples of how HPC is being used today in sites ranging from leading government and university centers to business and industrial firms to produce faster, superior innovation and solutions. |
| |
Join senior IDC HPC analysts Steve Conway and Earl Joseph at this rare event series as they discuss the fast-growing HPC marketplace and explain why 97% of IDC-surveyed businesses that have adopted HPC say they can no longer compete or survive without it. |
